ADD MISSING FIELDS TO FORMAT TOKENS
Syntax:
[DO NOT] ADD MISSING FIELDS TO FORMAT TOKENS [DO NOT] ADD MISSING FIELDS IN FORMATS
Function:
Some systems allow the format tokens for logical, integer and real objects to be written without field widths. For example:
WRITE(1, '(I,3F)') n,x,y,z
This is accepted by VMS Fortran and by most of the DEC legacy compilers, CVF, HP-UX, ifort, ifx etc. and also by gfortran with the -dec switch. However is is non-standard and may cause problems in migration.
Where the usage is accepted the compilers silently add field widths which depend on the kinds (data sizes) of the objects read or written. This command instructs fpt to add the missing field widths.
The field widths added are:
| LOGICAL | All sizes | L2 |
| INTEGER | *1 | I7 |
| *2 | I7 | |
| *4 | I12 | |
| *8 | I23 | |
| REAL | *4 | F15.7 E15.7E2 |
| *8 | F25.16 E25.16E2 | |
| All types | *1 | B17 O7 Z7 |
| *2 | B17 O7 Z7 | |
| *4 | B33 O12 Z12 | |
| *8 | B65 O23 Z23 |
